Originally packaged in a glass component, Kopari came to us to collaborate with their design team to execute a solution for their new Coconut Melt product. After meeting with the team and reviewing the brief the challenge was clear. Jansy's design team needed to meet their aesthetic goals, while creating a more user friendly experience that was also safe for bath/shower use.
The team landed on a sleek injection molded plastic jar, however to take it a step further, we implemented a removeable silicone element to the package. The silicone base was designed as a separate component to allow the jar itself to be fully recyclable, while further accentuating Kopari’s signature wave. The blend of smooth plastic into silicone also created an unexpected textural experience for the consumer that become an iconic part of the brand. Taking a deeper look, every part of the design is cohesive; from color-matching the print with the injection molded color of the silicone, to the aligning the printed logo with the flow of the wave on the base. Employing this mix of materials and strategic design helped to deliver a visually phenomenal package that has become one of Kopari’s top selling products to date.
